<p>today I will have a closer look into this Whisky:<br><br><em><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Bruichladdich 2012 Bere Barley</mark><br></strong></em><br>Before also this bottle is going to be empty here too I will write a review.<br>I like to wait until the bottles are nearly empty because I think the Whisky will develop in the bottle over time as more air is inside. Most times it develops very nice and becomes more complex imho.<br><br>I had a few of the Islay Barley already and looking forward to compare this one to those. Looking forward to see if they are similar of if the Bere Barley has its own distinct profile. With the 50% ABV it should transport the flavors quite well and the color suggest that it will have mainly bright fruits and a sweetness. What I am also want to find out if this one has a smoky note in it. The Islay Barley didn&#8217;t show that note imho.</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s see if it can surprise me and that hopefully in a positive way <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Appearance:</mark></strong><br>Color: bright gold. medium oily as the streaks on the glass flow a bit faster down.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Nose:</mark> 87/100 points</strong><br>quite reserved at the beginning. Then something sweet comes through, light fruits, malt, barley, a little vanilla and caramel. Then the alcohol shows itself a little. But you could also mistake it for light smoke. A few nuts show up as well as some leather<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Taste:</mark> <strong><strong>88/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>At first it is sweet and malty with barley and a little honey. Then the light fruits wrapped in leather come back. Vanilla and caramel join in. A little white chocolate. Here too you can detect a light smoke. Becoming creamy and oily towards the end.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Finish:</mark> <strong><strong>87/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>Malty with barley, slightly sweet, vanilla, a few citrus fruits and light fruits. Then the leather notes appear here too, but now there are nuts wrapped up in them. Very long aftertaste.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Conclusion:</mark><br></strong>Very nice Bruichladdich. This whisky is a little reserved on the nose at first, despite the 50% ABV. It needs a little time to open up. Then it develops a nice, complex profile.<br></p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Overall I give this Whisky:</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-black-color">87/100</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">WhiskyYoda points</mark></em></strong></p>
