<p>today I will have a closer look into this Whisky:<br><br><em><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Inchgower 21yo Vintage 1998 Cask# DL 13510 from Independent bottler Douglas Laing</mark><br></strong></em><br>What are my expectations? Well, considering the color, casks, age and ABV I expect this Whisky to be very complex with mainly bright fruity flavors combined with nice oak flavors. I expect that also leathery notes will show up. I really looking forward to try this one. But first give it some time in the glass to breath. In this case considering the age I will let it breath for at least 30-40 minutes.<br>During that time I will have it covered.</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s see if it can surprise me and that hopefully in a positive way <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Appearance:</mark></strong><br>Color: bright gold. Very oily as the streaks on the glass flow down very slow.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Nose:</mark> 89/100 points</strong><br>malty at first. then the oak kicks in and a lot of bright fruits, apples, citrus fruits. Caramel shows up and there is the fine leather note. Next thing shows itself are cereals and floral notes. Now it changes into flavors of hay and grass. After a while the fruits come back and appear to be more intense. Very complex.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Taste:</mark> <strong><strong>88/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>first here the leather shows itself. the lots of oak flavors. Becoming malty with the hay flavors. Then finally the fruits show up, especially the apples and citrus fruits and it becomes sweet with mainly caramel. At the end a few floral notes are also to be found.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Finish:</mark> <strong><strong>87/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>Citrus fruits with sweet flavors of caramel and malt. Leather and oak comes later. At the end there are also some nuts, hay and the cereals again.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Conclusion:</mark><br></strong>Great complex whisky. Needs definitely time to open up. If you give it that time you will experience a lot of different flavors especially in the nose.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Overall I give this Whisky:</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-black-color">88/100</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">WhiskyYoda points</mark></em></strong></p>
