<p>today I will have a closer look into this Whisky:<br><br><em><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Tomatin 30yo Batch 2</mark><br></strong></em><br>I got this sample from a bottle share in Germany.<br><br>What are my expectations? Well, considering the color, casks, age and ABV I expect this Whisky to be more on the fruity and sweet side. I expect the oak to be quite intense but hopefully not too tart and bitter. I really looking forward to try this one. But first give it some time in the glass to breath. In this case considering the age I will let it breath for at least one hour.<br>During that time I will have it covered.</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s see if it can surprise me and that hopefully in a positive way <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Appearance:</mark></strong><br>Color: Gold. Very oily as streaks on the glass flow down quite slow.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Nose:</mark> 90/100 points</strong><br>fruity floral with a lot of citrus fruits. Then comes honey, some yeast and malty flavors. A bit later the oak kicks in and round up the very nice nose. Very complex and balanced nose. Can smell on it very long and it doesn&#8217;t become boring.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Taste:</mark> <strong><strong>91/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>At the beginning it starts of fresh and kind of mild with a lot of fruits and floral flavors. Later the fruits turn into citrus fruits and the floral flavors becoming stronger. The sweetness increases be the time as well and the oak shows up and adds a bit spiciness to the overall picture. very complex also here. Becomes more sweet, creamy and oily and some malt and nuts show up as well. very saliva stimulating.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Finish:</mark> <strong><strong>90/100 points</strong></strong></strong><br>sweet fruity with a hint of malt and nuts. The floral notes are less than on the palate. The citrus fruits dominate also here. to the end it becomes a bit tart. medium length. would be great if it would last longer here.<br></p>

<p><strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Conclusion:</mark><br></strong>the force is strong with this one. Many of the aspects and flavors of this Whisky fulfilled my expectations. it is a very complex and well-balanced whisky and I definitely recommend trying that one if you get a chance. Very delicious indeed.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">Overall I give this Whisky:</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-black-color">90/100</mark> <mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color">WhiskyYoda points</mark></em></strong></p>
