Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel

Remarks:
nice Bourbon witch has now a permanent spot in my bar.
Less sweet than the “typical” bourbon and that flavor of the toasted barrel give it the right kick witch makes it for me quite special. I like it.

Overall I rate this Whisky 87/100 points

• Nose: 88/100 points
  I think it is by far less sweet than the typical bourbon. Here the sweetness shows itself more in the form of almonds and a very light cherry flavor paired with the thick flavors of that toasted barrel. rich in oak flavors as well but not bitter or herb. Spices like a bit black pepper is also there.
  
  
• Taste: 87/100 points
  On the palate same, only little bit sweet with flavors of coffee, caramel, a little bit dark chocolate, corn wheat and the toasted flavors again. Those are difficult to describe but they give this bourbon the right kick that it is not just vanilla sweet like the most others.
  
  
• Finish: 87/100 points
  The finish has at first a nice dark chocolate flavor then the toasted and oak flavors push to the front. Lasting quite long and tasty what results in that you want to drink more of it.
