Remarks:
I can well understand that this malt polarizes.
For someone who is fairly new to the world of whisky I would describe it as “demanding”.
Personally, I really like it with his very special profile. Especially if you give it some time in the glass.
It definitely falls into the love it or hate it department.
Overall I rate this Whisky 89/100 points
- Nose: 89/100 points
a whole gush of sweet lime comes at the first moment. Very intense nose, citrus fruits, a really dirty musty but also very refreshing note.
Caramel, furniture polish, fruit acid, apple, a slight hint of phenol smoke can be discerned. - Taste: 90/100 points
The notes from the nose continued here as well.
Only now they seem sweeter and at the same time more sour.
Very powerful aromas thanks to the more than 54% alcohol.
It doesn’t need water. - Finish: 89/100 points
Long, beautiful finish in which the aromas, especially from the palate, come into their own again. Very nice.
