Remarks:
a very tasty sherry malt. It looks significantly older than 14 years. Wonderful flavor profile. The alcohol is a bit stinging in the nose without water, but not really bothersome. You have to like the bitter taste. I think the combination of the flavors is very successful. I like it very much.
Overall I rate this Whisky 90/100 points
- Nose: 90/100 points
many dried fruits immediately rise to the nose. Raisins, plums, dark fruits, somewhat sweet with vanilla, spicy, alcohol is noticeable, quite strong. With a few drops of water, the slightly pungent alcohol takes off and it becomes softer, slightly sweeter and much fruity. - Taste: 90/100 points
dark fruity start, strong sherry notes, spicy, some pepper, oak notes, plums and raisins. With a few drops of water, the dark fruit basket comes to the fore. It also looks slightly sweeter and rounder now. Some vanilla comes through. - Finish: 90/100 points
strong finish. Again intense dark and dried fruits, becoming spicy and peppery, slightly bitter towards the end. Some oak notes. With a few drops of water it looks less powerful, but rounder and fuller. The fruits and sweetness come into their own and the bitter takes a back seat, but is still noticeably there.
