Remarks:
a very special whisky, the nose is wonderful and it tempts you to smell long. It is very special on the palate and in the finish, you really have to like the sour notes. I don’t think the combination is bad. But it’s not necessarily something for everyday enjoyment.
Overall I rate this Whisky 89/100 points
- Nose: 89/100 points
Lots of strong sherry aromas, plums, raisins, old wooden furniture, nice and round and soft, dark berries and some forest honey, later a slight hint of menthol in the background - Taste: 89/100 points
Quite creamy and plums at the beginning, but then quickly changing to sour berries, spicy, a little oak, becoming dry, but the sour ones keep the upper hand - Finish: 89/100 points
Spicy finish, warming, notes of sherry, but also here then transitioning into the sour notes and becoming dry.
