Remarks:
Without water, it is too soft and reserved in the nose, on the palate and in the finish it is quite good. From the profile, more on the spicy side.
With water it opens up a bit and it’s more fruity and sweeter
Overall I rate this Whisky 86/100 points
- Nose: 86/100 points
Very closed, oak, citrus fruits, a little malt, spicy, later light, very restrained notes of sherry maturation, dried fruits, apricots, raisins. All in all more on the spicy side.
With a few drops of water it opens something and becomes slightly fruity - Taste: 86/100 points
spicy start, sweet fruity with plums and apricots, then later becoming slightly dry, the oak now comes through a bit. Slightly oily and nutty at the end.
With a few drops of water the spicy takes a back seat and the fruity shows up more. Otherwise, the aromas remain unchanged - Finish: 86/100 points
Spicy, pronounced finish, dry, sweet with hints of dried fruits and chocolate. Turning slightly bitterly woody towards the end.
With a little water, the finish becomes a little sweeter and the spicy takes a back seat.
