Remarks:
In the Glencairn glass it appears very soft and meaningless, in the Master Blenders it is very strong at first.
So I use the Master Blenders glass.
To be honest I didn’t expect much from this supermarket whisky. Wasn’t disappointed, rather surprised.
But I have to admit that I waited until the last dram in the bottle with the Notes. It had evolved quite well with time and air in the bottle. at the beginning I would have seen it at a maximum of 84 points.
My recommendation: plenty of time and plenty of air.
Quite a decent malt, especially considering the price.
Overall I rate this Whisky 86/100 points
- Nose: 87/100 points
Creamy sweetish, fruity, caramel, I have berries, some malt, nuts, honey, spicy oak notes, herbs, citrus fruits come. Some leather - Taste: 86/100 points
Sweet, nutty, fruits that now appear lighter, citrus fruits, some caramel and vanilla, spicy oak, becoming slightly tart, herbs - Finish: 84/100 points
Quite soft and rather short to medium long, briefly sweet and fruity, then becoming tart. Nuts and the malt are also back for a short time. All in all, however, the bitterness prevails here.
