Remarks:
What a great complex experience. A real treat and one of the best malts I’ve had in my glass so far.
Overall I rate this Whisky 94/100 points
- Nose: 94/100 points
Nice start, intense sherry aromas, spicy wood notes, fruity with grapes, bananas, some mango, wax, honey, furniture polish, vanilla, plums and raisins. Slightly malt and nuts in the background. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Great maturation, you can tell the age here, slightly sweet in the background - Taste: 94/100 points
At first a very soft start, then there are nice old sherry aromas paired with a slight sweetness, vanilla, lots of dried fruits, plums, a little pepper comes through for a short time, beeswax, honey, chocolate, an indescribable abundance of aromas. Wonderful. And I think the over 60% are still well integrated, nuts come later and it looks creamy - Finish: 94/100 points
Wonderful finish with a sherry flavor which is more in the field of sweetness at the beginning, then spicy old wood notes and slightly bitter, which is not unpleasant, but harmonizes wonderfully. Citrus fruits are also available.
