Remarks:
I actually expected more. Without water, it is very closed and more on the woody side, which gives the impression of sapped barrels. With a few drops of water, it opens something and becomes fruity, but still doesn’t knock my socks off. It falls into the easy drinking category, good but nothing special
Overall I rate this Whisky 85/100 points
- Nose: 85/100 points
spicy oak, fruity, but looks very closed, but alcohol is well integrated. Later, there is a slight orange and a hint of cherries, quickly transitioning into more nutty and malty notes which, however, only linger for a very short time. Then woody notes predominate that cover everything a little.
With a few drops of water it opens easily and the fruity aromas come through, especially the cherry notes. Unfortunately not more - Taste: 85/100 points
Spicy start, light pepper, then oak notes, slightly nutty and malty, but the wood aromas predominate, slightly sweet, later becoming slightly dry.
With a few drops of water it becomes a little sweeter and fruity, the nutty, malty one also comes to the fore. The wood aromas are now taking a back seat. - Finish: 85/100 points
Spicy woody finish, slightly sweet with dried fruits which are only short-lived. Then the wood aromas take over here too.
With a few drops of water, the finish looks a bit minty and fishy at the beginning and berries appear. All in all, it looks fruity.
