Remarks:
Wonderful sherry aged malt.
Very intense aroma profile.
Especially the nose is fun with this malt.
Can you keep yourself busy for a long time?
It looks older than 19 to me.
Overall I rate this Whisky 90/100 points
- Nose: 91/100 points
Sherry fruit bomb! Very intense fruity sherry aromas. Lots of plums, figs, raisins, peaches, a small orange peel squeezes through every now and then. some chocolate drizzled with honey, then there are spices like pepper and a very light note of cinnamon, oak aromas are also present, but these are more in the background. Instead, a red berry pushes through here and there. After a long time of smelling I notice a pleasant light sour note combined with a light sulfur note wrapped in aromatic tobacco notes.
Gorgeous nose! - Taste: 90/100 points
Intense, thick sherry aromas, lots of sweet dried fruit, a very brief hint of honey that quickly disappears and gives way to strong oak and spice notes. It gets a bit sharp and a bit tart.
The thick sherry aromas with the spicy oak dominate here. - Finish: 89/100 points
nice long sherry dominated finish with a pleasant combination of short sweetness and then the following sour bitterness. Then towards the end the tobacco aromas show up again.
