Remarks:
a wonderful and intense sherry malt. It has something very special. Really extremely complex and tasty. But you have to give it time then it unfolds an enormous variety of flavors. The alcohol is well integrated and I would have guessed it to be older.
Overall I rate this Whisky 91/100 points
- Nose: 91/100 points
wow what an intense nose, unbelievable amount of sherry, old wood, leather, furniture polish, some fermented dark fruit, plums, raisins, some orange peel, coffee powder, marzipan, later comes some spicy oak, the dark, intense “old” aromas predominate, a lot later some chocolate and Black Forest cake - Taste: 91/100 points
Here too, intense dark “old” notes, a lot of sherry and old, slightly moldy wood, a lot of dried fruits but also the slightly fermented fruits are back. Orange peel, plums, raisins, slightly bitter, old leather, furniture polish, chocolate, some coffee but more in the direction of espresso - Finish: 91/100 points
Lots of sherry, raisins and plums, spicy wood notes, long finish, becoming bitter and yet intense dark, slightly fermented fruit notes, light chocolate and again and again the slightly musty, but delicious aftertaste
