Remarks:
really interesting malt. Was my first Hazelburn and I like it a lot. But he took time to open up. If you give it to him, you won’t be disappointed. Delicious.
Overall I rate this Whisky 88/100 points
- Nose: 88/100 points
very changeable aromas, there is musty wood, leather, then citrus fruits, then it changes to coffee and dried fruits, then for a brief moment there is an aroma that I would describe as baby vomit. But that only stays for a very short time and then he opens and a lot of figs and apricots come to the fore. At the end I have fresh spices and a slight maritime touch - Taste: 88/100 points
Creamy start, again leather and old wood in a rather musty direction, a bit bitter on the tongue, then there are dried fruits, mainly raisins and figs, then apricots and peaches. Nuts and a little espresso at the end of the process are easy to report - Finish: 88/100 points
nice finish with spicy wood notes, leather, wonderful mouthfeel. The spicy wood notes are wonderfully combined with the sherry aromas and a good portion of coffee and really stimulate the flow of saliva. You can eat away at the finish for a long time
