Remarks:
In the nose I have the distinct distillery character which is a bit difficult to describe. Let it breath a bit in the glass. Give it about 20-30 minutes to open up. Then that alcoholic sting in the nose is gone which you have she pour it in.
I have the taste of beer at first combined with the fruitiness of the port cask. Vanilla comes and also a few nuts. Malt and cereals appear as well as toffee. You can feel it is a young one.
on the palate it has a strong start and the fruits dominate the beginning clearly. Later comes the malt, toffee, vanilla and nuts as well. From the beer cask I get now less flavors. But still that distillery character is here clearly.
in the finish I have mainly the fruits and nuts with a bit if malt. It lingers quite a while and it’s really tasty.
I like it. I like it even more then the Dreifaltigkeit from them. Nice and interesting malt. Don’t expect it to taste like a scotch. It has it’s own characteristic and that is a good one.
Overall I rate this Whisky 88/100 points
- Nose: 88/100 points
- Taste: 88/100 points
- Finish: 88/100 points
