Remarks:
this is an excellent malt. Incredibly complex and aromatic. Extremely complex and there is a lot to discover, especially in the nose.
I would say this one was bottled at the perfect time.
The malt requires a lot of time and attention, but it’s definitely worth it!
Overall I rate this Whisky 94/100 points
- Nose: 95/100 points
many exotic fruits at the beginning and some pineapple is included. Then wonderful old oak notes come to the fore. Honey and wax, some cinnamon, subtly sweet, wonderful dark and aromatic fruits, herbs, some leather, citrus, orange peel, plums, lychee. Cloves and nutmeg appear later for a very short time - Taste: 94/100 points
very aromatic and voluminous attack, a real fruit basket appears at the beginning with some fruit acid and a very slight dryness. Pine needles, citrus fruits, honey and wax, old leather, grandma’s oak cupboard, slightly creamy and oily later. But the fruit basket always resonates in the foreground. Wonderfully complex - Finish: 92/100 points
rather reserved, creamy with some sweetness and vanilla. Then the fruit and the fruit acid show up again, albeit less intensely. At first it gave the impression that the finish would be quite short and boring. But the fruits and the fruit acid stay behind for a very long time.
