Remarks:
Great Tobermory.
Very complex on the nose.
Nothing seems artificial here and everything harmonizes wonderfully with each other.
Overall I rate this Whisky 90/100 points
- Nose: 92/100 points
Oranges, herbs, fennel, chocolate comes through briefly, leather, some tobacco, dark dried fruits, old oak notes, some aniseed and cloves. A light maritime note is followed by forest berries. There is a brief flash of caramel, but then it quickly disappears again.
very complex nose - Taste: 89/100 points
many berries at the beginning. Then there are more tart notes like leather and old dusty wood, oak, then fruity notes again, this time primarily the sherry notes. Herbs come and the malt becomes a bit more bitter and slightly acidic. The fennel is also shown briefly again in combination with the cloves. - Finish: 90/100 points
nice aromatic finish. First the sherry notes are superficial. The fruit notes linger on the palate for a long time. The herbs and the spicy oak notes show up again. Long and aromatic. Hardly any sour or bitter.
