Remarks:
a really great malt with a wonderful variety of flavors. The interplay of flavors is almost breathtaking. An excellent bunna. I like it very much. 92 points with tendency to 93 points.
Overall I rate this Whisky 92/100 points
- Nose: 92/100 points
nice heavy sherry notes accompanied by a beautiful and matching sulfur note, lots of dried fruits, plums, figs, many dark berries, behind the sulfur are a pair of orange peel, spicy old wood, some furniture polish, later a couple of slightly sweet notes with some chocolate and caramel. You’d think it had more than 46%, there is a lot of power behind it. After a long time, the sulfur recedes and the citrus and chocolate notes come to the fore. Also has something of grandma’s wall unit - Taste: 92/100 points
Strong start with mainly thick sherry notes, plums, raisins, figs, then come the spicy old wood notes with a now stronger note of the furniture polish. The citrus fruits are also here again, although here, too, they tend to be in the background. There is also a slight bitterness which is not unpleasant but paired with old leather. - Finish: 92/100 points
Nice intense finish that reflects the dark fruity aromas of the nose very nicely. In the background, the slightly sweet chocolate notes cavort, although they now look more like dark chocolate, wrapped in the leather notes, ensnared with notes of old wood. The aromas stay on the palate and on the tongue for a long time. You can benefit from it for a long time.
