Remarks:
Blind I would have found it difficult to recognize a Glendronach here. This malt is more on the spicy bitter side. The sherry aromas can be found in the background. Not a bad malt in itself, but in my opinion the distillery style is not, or only very, very difficult to recognize here.
Overall I rate this Whisky 90/100 points
- Nose: 45/100 points
Oak comes in at first, becoming fruity, very reserved, the alcohol works well, raisins and plums slowly come through, herbs come through. Now there are more dried fruits. Later comes some apple. It slowly unfolds in the nose and takes a lot of time - Taste: 50/100 points
soft spicy start, here too the alcohol is barely noticeable, then soft sherry aromas, later light pepper, spicy oak, plums, raisins, fruity profile. Getting a little dry at the end - Finish: 25/100 points
spicy finish with light sherry notes, quickly transitioning into dry bitter notes that dominate the mouth. Intense oak aromas then come through.
