Remarks:
very nice smoky profile. Unusual for a Glenglassaugh but definitely not untasty.
I like it.
Overall I rate this Whisky 86/100 points
- Nose: 86/100 points
Nice peat note, smoked ham, plums, some pepper, ginger, very light phenol note, some red apple, subtly sweet, light notes of citrus fruits, mainly orange. Maritime notes come through if you hold the glass further away from your nose. - Taste: 86/100 points
sweet fruity, smoky, some smoked ham, maritime, dark fruits this time. One could assume that sherry casks were involved. Some pepper comes through, red apples are now more intense than in the nose, but the ginger is more reserved here, later becoming slightly tart. - Finish: 85/100 points
beautiful intense fruity smoky finish. Light fruit acid notes come through and have a very pleasant effect on the throat and esophagus. The aromas linger on the palate for a long time.
