Remarks:
It can’t really convince me. The alcohol is too intrusive on the nose and too malty on the palate for a sherry-aged malt. The finish is still one of the best. I like the younger ones from other IB’s more.
Overall I rate this Whisky 85/100 points
- Nose: 85/100 points
Alcohol is very present, very strong and spicy with sherry aromas, some chocolate in the background - Taste: 84/100 points
A spicy malty start, followed by a bit of sweetness and light sherry aromas. Here the alcohol works a bit better. Pepper comes lightly later - Finish: 86/100 points
Strong in the finish, the sherry notes are more intense here than on the palate.
